Also, petrol does only exist in Britain. It's a mysterious liquid refined (judging by the price) from liquid platinum. Americans run their cars on "gas", which is a substance we don't have, and that you apparently don't need to take out a loan to purchase. Burn Gordon Brown! Burn him now! It should NOT be more cost-effective to drive to France or Belgium to fill up your car with fuel. Burn him I say! And tax on cigarettes is even worse... Where are these huge amounts of money going? Towards making schools effective? Towards making hospitals into places where you get better as opposed to where you go to catch hideous diseases? Towards bringing the rail network out of the 19th century? Towards paying decent wages to the emergency services to stop them going on strike every six months? Towards putting a stop to the enormous yearly cuts in the defence budget? Hardly. Probably goes towards the £33,000,000,000 we pay annually for the privilege of having the EU gradually erode our independence. How anyone can argue that that money couldn't be better spent is beyond my understanding.

Because someone mentioned something vaguely possibly almost political. Don't blame me, blame the injustice!

Talking of bands, I went to see Yes this evening, on the last date of their European tour. 70's prog rock isn't to everyone's taste, but more accomplished musicians there have never been. Rick Wakeman, Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White are gods among men.

They tour pretty much every year, and will probably continue doing so until one of them dies. Anyway:

How did I miss this thread! I, too, saw Yes in concert. Actually Rage and myself. They rock. Too bad I can't listen to music while making music :\

I've never before stood amidst such a profusion of middle-aged people with long hair as at a Yes concert. I felt rather out of place. Plus, I wanted them to play Ritual and they didn't, so I was disappointed. :(
