hehe, drawing zombie gibs now... you...
Fantasy Realms, didn't the niko mother fucking fucker do that? Fucking talk to me or be raped oraly.
He still does the manga part of the Fantasy Realms thing. I know a lot of people here aren't all that fond of him, but I think his artwork has lately gotten to be pretty astounding.
(arias).. no one denies that Niko's brilliant in art now. I certainly think he's quite a badass artist now. :O
But in the past? He was an overhyped asshole.

-I Wrote the first ever Astar library in verge.
-I created a powerful and flexable effects system that isnt released yet
-I created a 2D dynamic lighting system
-I've been with the community for 5 years or more
-I'm 18 and working for a local film studio doing 3D animation
Also Duskbane should be enjoyable when it's released. It will feature graphics by hyptosis and zombies that can be dismembered. And ofcorse there will be the lighting system and maybe even some more fun things.
And another project... but you'll find out about that in time.
oh and my avatar kicks ass ^_^

In my not-doing-other-sparetime-stuff spare time I am making a kings-quest kind of game that was inspired by the game Peasant Quest on homestarrunner.com
The WIP version is at www.verge-rpg.com/~toen/jbob.rar and when it actually turns into a game of some sort I will put it in the files section.

I am currently developing an RPG of massive proportions. It will feature an involving plot, a powerfully customizable spell engine, and vigorous fast-paced real-time combat. The inventory items of this game will out-of-the-ordinary and I hope to be a lot funner. This game will even include bizarre elementals such as Pandas, Walruses, and McGrue!
Promises to be more fun than Halo 2.

I just made a picture that I'm rather proud of. I would post it, but it's probably too graphic for these boards, plus I just realized I don't know how to post pictures anyway. How graphic can pictures be on these boards, BTW?
So I'll just talk. I'm working on an RPG/Adventure/Tactical Strategy/Sneaker game. It will be fun and interesting. Here's a back-of-the-box quote:
Utilizes advanced scripting technology to tell a tale of crime, corruption and greed! Enter a world of sinister plots and secret dealings, where Masked and Hooded Men are the true iron-fisted emperors and the Sinister Icy Black Hand of Death lurks around every corner! Rise to the top or die in the attempt! Coming soon*.

I still have my story idea of when I initially wanted to do a V1 game pre-millenium days.
Although I expanded it enough I'm seriously contemplating writing a novel instead(it pretty much got too big and complicated in my head to the point where I have written a few "dictionaries" and "encyclopedias" of 20+ pages each that were subsequently deleted for being out of date):P
For those who were in contact with me back in them days, "The First Legacy" was the title and was the worst kind of vaporware^^;
Once I free up some time I have a smaller more simple story idea I'd like to verge-i-fy with a name pending about a Virtual Environment with self-protection issues.:)

Howdy, all! The original Mikka-bouzu here (brownie points if anyone can translate that -- it's a really apt term for describing me in Japanese!). Been AGES since I last posted... and nobody hypes like I do!! (: So I figured this would be as good a place to start posting as any. (:
I have OUTRAGEOUSLY over-ambitious plans for a two-game VERGE epic, which I've been sort of unconsciously working on for 5 years or so, at this point (ideas for the story, or for new characters to add to the story, regularly pop into my head, and I'll often sit down and work out how to fit them into the big picture). The games are tentatively titled "Forgotten Kings" and "Remembrants," and are going to be quite unique, if I ever get them done.
The basic concept behind Forgotten Kings is a game of side-quests. Its underlying plot is fairly typical, but there are an inordinate number of optional characters and side-quests that turn out to be far more important (the underlying plot is to save your kingdom from a minor threat, but the side-quests involve saving the world, and possibly the universe!). The plans are already laid out for a cast of over 22 playable main characters, including a mad-scientist-turned-clown, a naturist, a sasquatch, an alien cat-man, a zombie, a suave merman, and even a sentient jail cell -- all of which are connected together through an insanely ludicrous set of sub-plots that involve traversing the very boundaries of space and time. The game will utilize a rather unique battle system to compensate for its oversized cast of characters, and will feature an inordinate number of mini-games, including an arcade-style survival game, a Super Metroid-like platformer, and a whole other RPG. (: There's a VERY early draft of the plot (to which numerous changes have been made, though not yet documented) available for reading at http://forgottenkings.tripod.com, if anyone is interested.
Remembrants is a much more serious, much deeper and more epic game, but with an equally ludicrous plot -- if not MORE ludicrous!! Taking plade 15 years after the events of FK, and featuring even MORE zany characters, Remembrants deals with a much darker world, where a thief has gotten his hands on the recipe for an immortality potion that requires a human life as its primary ingredient, and has formed a vigilante group that goes around the world selling these potions at exorbitant prices -- and killing those who don't pay up, using their lives to create potions for paying clients. But when this thief's group kills a bitter young man's girlfriend, he goes on a suicide mission to steal a potion and revive her -- which she's none too pleased about, when he succeeds -- and it erupts into a journey of such far-reaching proportions that it may end up shattering the very fabric of space, time, and human mentality. Remembrants will feature a more modest variety of mini-games and a slightly more linear plot, but the cast of new characters will be as wild as ever, featuring a hired assassin, a fallen god with habitual bad luck, a sexy rich author who keeps a revolver in her stocking, and a man from a race of cloth-people who wears human skin as clothing.
In addition to THESE wild plans, I'm also toying with the idea of creating a simplistic online game, if VERGE has the capability of accessing files over the internet (I'm thinking a small ping server would suffice - just the ability to quickly access and update a couple small text files would allow for any number of users to play the game at once). Not much to say about that one, except that it'll be a remake of an online game I made a long time ago in BASIC, which WAS actually finished, and was fully playable as a BBS door game (sort of a ghetto local internet that people ran out of their houses). It's also the game that (heavily) evolved into Forgotten Kings.
So yeah... those are MY wild plans! (: More updates are sure to come soon!!

Oh yeah... one of the basic concepts behind Forgotten Kings and Remembrants is that FK will be open-ended, and Remembrants will be open-begun. To clarify, FK will have one beginning and multiple endings... and Remembrants will have multiple beginnings (based on FK save-data), but only one ending. In addition, I plan on including something of a "disbelief" system in Remembrants. Whenever reading any text box in the entire game, you can advance to the next text box by pressing either of two buttons. One implies that you believe the contents of the text box... the other implies that you don't. Although this affects very little, there will be some instances where it could change certain aspects of the game, and may allow for acquiring various treasures that are otherwise unattainable.
More to come!

Mcgrue: Nope, you're waaaaay off. (: Mikka-bouzu directly translates as "three-day monk"... so... maybe now it'll be easier to figure out? (: Heheheheh... I love that term. (:

Good gosh. I think you'd be a good artist for Resident Evil, definately. That's...good. Not to mention...graphic, but you know, I guess it goes with the zombie art territory.
