Omni

I can't do much showing, but I will do a whole bunch of telling.

My own personal 3D graphics library. Features:

--Four-sided polygons/quads
--Rotation, translation, scaling of vectors
--Simple texture-mapping of polygons
--Flat shading of polygons
--Gradient shading of polygons
--Hierarchial polygon models
--VERY SIMPLE light sourcing system.
--VERY PRIMITIVE/SLOW Gourand shading.
--Z sorting.
--User-specified max polygon limit.
--Adjustable draw distance.
--Simple functions that obfuscate actual matrix mathematics.
--Functions that allow user to perform custom matrix operations
and transformations.

And my enhanced map rendering library:

Layer scaling, rotation, offset, scrolling, lucency, per-layer function hooking, per-layer entity rendering.
Entity scaling, rotation, lucency, per-entity function hooking.

Release dates: Unknown. I know how I would pull all of this off in code, I've just got to finish it.

Now that I've hyped my vaporware, it's time to do something constructive. Like read Harry Potter.

Technetium

I have two big projects, one small project, and several unstarted projects.

The first one is Phobos Project, which is my Final Fantasy - style RPG, supposed to rip off FF in a paying homage sort of way. If I finish it, it'll take as long to play as any FF does. This is my main project, but I have stopped working on it at the moment because my tablet is dead, and I can't afford a new one at the moment, and I need a tablet for the background tiles for the battles.

The second project doesn't have a name yet. It's a Dungeons & Dragons randomized fun game. You get to make a party of characters, and play on a randomly generated world map which builds as you explore it (turning black tiles into identified terrain). There are randomly generated dungeons to be explored, populated with randomly generated monsters and treasure. It is based very faithfully on the AD&D 2nd edition rules. I have already got the character creation element completely finished (complete with indexes for every level 1 Wizard spell and every Priest spell up to 4th level listed in the Players Manual), and I am currently working on the inventory system which is going to be modelled very much after the inventory system used in Diablo 2. I'm not really sure how much interest there would be in this, as it has NO PLOT whatsoever; it's just endless treasure-hunting, exploration, and monster-killing. I'm slightly hesitant to consider releasing it (assuming I finish), because of copyright issues.

My small project is TANQ, a Scorched Earth clone. It works pretty well, though it doesn't have half of the items finished. I was originally making it because I couldn't get the original game to run on Windows XP, but now that I found Scorched 3D, I kinda don't care about it much anymore.

I would like to do a second story-based RPG with an original battle system at some point (I have the story already), a Gradius-style shooter, and possibly get to work on my alternative to Simcity.

Finding time for all of this is the problem, of course.

I'm working on the VergeC scripting utilities I mentioned at the end of the "feature suggestion - more chr animations" thread. I'm almost done; right now I'm just debugging, documenting and writing example programs (I'm trying to make it faster too). Free sample:

script DelayedHelloWorld(int delay) {
wait(delay);
Exit("Hello, world! Sorry I'm late.");
}

autoexec() {
ScriptInit();
DelayedHelloWorld(500);
while(1) {
ScriptUpdate();
PageFlip();
}
}

That will exit with the message "Hello, world! Sorry I'm late." after 5 seconds.

It's kind of a silly example, and the system is actually a lot more powerful than that, but I'm at work so I don't have time to come up with a better example ;)

I'm also working on a game, currently untited. I'm actually doing the scripting system because it will make the game a lot easier to make.

La la la luuuuuuu... Love Revolution. Great dating sim fun time. Coming out whenever.

Also, I'm working on Cyberwizards again, a project which a few of you older Vergers -might- remember, but considering my incredibly short attention span, lord knows how long I'll continue working on it.

...

I AM THE BEST HYPER/HYPE ARTIST IN THE WORLD.

Hype! Yay!

I'm currently working on my masterpiece, "Perceptions." It's a 640x480, mouse-driven sci-fi RPG with the following nice features:

* Intelligently written plot with a difference
* Dynamic weather system: rain, fog, snow! Yay!
* Multiple-choice conversations. The outcome depends on how you respond
* Create your OWN character to play the game: choose your name, stats, skills and appearance
* Get your very own spacecraft to crash around the galaxy in!
* Band up with a team of renegades, oddities and outcasts!

Screenshots will follow.. When I feel like it.

Working on Duskbane complete, which will feature totally hawt graphics, a totally jammin sound track, wicked slick code and effects, and more I dare not reveal.*

Also, I am making a VERGE game that will increase your computer's performance 10-fold! Just leave it running in the background!**

*Also it will include some kind of story or something. Its going to be so awesome.

**I have yet to optimize this program, so its currently running at about 1-fold. Sorry, I'll release an enhanced version when I can figure out how to optimize it.

Come ON.

Can't anybody pull off hype like Fantasy Realms did?

Damn it. Come on Duskbane team, pull your shots! :D

The Fantasy Realms hype was the hype of them all! Next to Confluence ofcourse :E

Those were the days..! Anyway, I'm gonna hype my game now.

Features:
- LOTS OF COOL STUFF
- MORE COOL STUFF
- OMG! AWESOME STUFF

Actually, I was thinking of making a homepage for my project but the way that I work through my project, there's not much more than a design document and lots of code. When I get into the making of the game, maybe screenshots will be coming around.

That should be a website's name.

corey's website is called Corey's Pixelgasm. That's kind of close.

Whenever I get Pixel Erections I can never give my girl Pixelgasms.

Revelations had a lot of master hype too - and look who started this thread with an uber mock-up. Coincidence?

<3 this thread.

Arias: Get on IRC sometime and I will show you what I am working on in REASON. The Duskbane music is going to be so kick ass. Also, its going to be 3d or something. Did I mention the 70 hours of gameplay? I may as well drop this bomb too. The following feature WILL be included:

DUSKBANE WILL FEATURE SHOOTING LIMBS OFF ZOMBIES.

Enough said.

Ah, but do we get to beat them to DEATH with their own limbs? That ALWAYS rules. One of Severance: Blade of Darkness's finest features, right before a driver update made it stoically refuse to play on my PC ever again. Damn.

He still does the manga part of the Fantasy Realms thing. I know a lot of people here aren't all that fond of him, but I think his artwork has lately gotten to be pretty astounding.

Proving that artistry does not imply diplomacy.

...

...then again, I don't think anyone ever thought that it would.
