I appreciate all your kind words on my Battel Engine... it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that my work has brought joy to so many.

For your achievement to go unrecognized would be a crime against humanity. I shall email you with the details of the new Battel Engine fanclub shortly.

I find myself very saddened that the popularity of the video games that I create seems to be inversely proportional to the amount of work I put into them.

Perhaps I should release my "The Best Game You've Ever Played" game, which takes me about 3 minutes to write and is so spectacular that I generally don't actually keep a copy around, since it's about as much work to type it back in again as it is to remember where I put it. It's all in here *head tap*.

Someone should kill you so the knowledge doesn't get out. You could jepordize the future of the videogame industry if you keep releasing this awesome free games. Please, stop before you collapse the whole economy.

...

I'll take a copy of that best game you've ever played.

How about I just type it out. You can compile it with any Ansi-C compliant compiler.

#include <stdio.h>

int main() {
char name[255];
printf("\n\nThis is the best game you have ever played.");
printf("\nWhat is your name?");
scanf("%s",name);
printf("\n\nHIGH SCORE LIST");
printf("\nSCORE\tNAME");
printf("\nwinner\tKildorf");
printf("\nloser\t%s",name);
printf("\n\n");
return 0;
}

Also, please no killing.

Is there any way a gamer, not a programmer, can enjoy this beyond it's walking diagonally potential? I'm not giving up yet Ben, give me something else to chew on... and... i still haven't beaten Sully... doh

That's because in this game, son, there is only one winner.

Your game is mean. >:(

Wiji, there is a lot to VERGE. I suggest you play as many demos as you can to see its many uses.

That may be true, but it's still the best game you've ever played.

Indeed! Wiji, if you've got the time, I suggest especially checking out Diver Down and most of the stuff by Zaratustra, as well as the recent compo entries. There's also some interesting demos of various things done with Verge3 that would probably interest you if you're attempting to get an idea of what Verge can do.

I would provide you actual links but I am starting to find myself unable to focus properly; a browse through the files section (see link at the top of your page) should reveal these things to you.

Dude, I found a cheat code for the greatest game that ever was!
Replace lines 10 and 11 with the following two lines and recompile:
	printf("\nwinner\t%s",name);

printf("\nloser\tKildorf");

;)

Hey, is it just me, or has <pre> been spiffified?

Hey, El...

Your cheat's not very good. Everytime I try it, I lose. ;_;

el_desconocido

Well, cheat codes are always a little buggy. Such is the price of not playing all the way through yourself without cheating. ;)

Surely you both win and lose. Which would make it a draw.

Has the compo winner been decided yet?

It was decided as soon as Kildorf put up his awesome example of battle-ness for all to play, I imagine.

I pray for the fate of mankind that you are wrong, resident.

Grue decided his own compo winner the night of the deadline. We are waiting on the other judges, apparently, although it doesn't look like Miko will have time to judge at all.

This is just what I hear from Grue. I thought I should update you because he doesn't ;_;
