That better not mean you're about to take your pants off.

I hope this isn't one of these self-fulfilling prophecies...
Is it time to get scared already?

For those who need to be told, the next HoV is being pushed back a week. So those of you that were all pressed for time on polishing your BS's for actual use in a game have been unpressed and will have nobody to blame but yourselves when you fritter away all of this bonus time.

If I don't have a third judge by Sunday, I'll compute Hahn's judgements with mine, and we'll all be sad that there wasn't a judging triumvirate.

You could bug one of the forum regs who didn't take part to judge for you. El Desconocido maybe? Not that I have much stake in this, the serious contenders might want something more professional.

[Edit: I did, of course, mean El Desconocido - but if people insist on using names I can't spell...]

Well, it's a matter of not only being verbose, but being known to have the ability to impartially view a matter.

Whilst there are some in the board ranks who are definitly educated and wordy, I really don't know many of you newly active people well enough to vouch for character.

How many newly active people are there here? It seems like I remember most of these people from years past, and I've been around since 98' (around, but sucking for most of that time). El has certainly has been arounding even longer as Prince Paul. Of course I'm not trying to say you should allow us commoners to judge the entries, merely pointing out the fact that there are many old folks around.

Did I speak of VERGE-age? No. But if you suggest that most of these people were active during the Age of Great Sucking, well, you're silly.

I think 3 people and a dog were active vergers during that time.

Verge was golden before it had a fanbase.

It hardly has a fanbase now. And I am fairly certain you were not active during the time Grue was talking about, and I'm also fairly certain you weren't active too long before I was, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. It had its biggest fan base during the v1 days, and hasn't achieved that status since then, as far as I know.

In my own defence, I'd like to say I'd LIKE to have been active during the days of great suckage, but V2 had just been completely broken into unusability. Trying to get a fully working set of devtools and a Verge EXE that was both compatible and not still 256 colours... AARGH, my brain hurts just thinking about it.

At one point, I even considered going back to V1. Until I realised how much Verge had come on from when I started messing around with it.

fatdork

when was the suckage part? i loved v1 era.

Gayo

That would be the part when nothing got done, I believe. I'd call it the "middle period" of V2, when more hybrid VERGE 2s got released than games. I think Zara made more V2 games than everyone else together.

I never even used anything but V2. Never tried winv2, or any of the other releases. Unforetunately, it wasn't becuase I was making games, it was becuase I sucked. ;_;

Hey! It's nearly Monday! Wassa our results?

I never dared attempt making verge games in the olden days - but I did run across it before V2 was released. Never really joined in with the community though, just downloaded a couple of bits and lurked the board some.

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
