Er...no. But! That's a great idea!

No! Stop, Omni! That's a bad idea! Come away from the dark side.

... Congrats on your kibipost, Omni.

'Kibi'. My self-modified brain is not familiar with this term.

Kildorf

kibiX = 2^10 of X.

It's a term they came up with to handle whether a 'kilobyte' was 1000 bytes or 1024... technically according to international standard now (that's SI units), a kilobyte is 1000 bytes (kB) (in keeping with kilometre, kilopascals, etc.) and a kibibyte (KiB) is 1024 bytes. And yes, a mebibyte (MiB) is 1024 kibibytes, a gibibyte (GiB) is 1024 mebibytes, and so on.

Not that Americans ever seem to have much use for 'standards'. :P

Right, I recall seeing something like that on Wikipedia.

Well fair enough, I can see how the multi-valued 'kilo' could confuse those with less than 5 minutes experience in any digital related field. Honestly, these people need to redirect all this effort to their kids or solving crimes or something. If you wanted to remove all the inconsistencies in science you'd basically have to start from scratch.

Incredulity aside, not having to use '0-x' for negatives is convenient but editing code at run time could potentially be very helpful indeed. I intend to tinker. Ta to all involved for their efforts.

mebibyte sounds retarded.

I prefer 'metric megabyte'! ;D

I'm having a few problems with this new version. It seems like it is unpredictably skipping lines of code.

I have a couple maps which have large amounts of code contained in an IF block within the start script for the map, followed by some code outside the block which is run regardless. About 2 times ouf or 15 or 20 tries, it has failed to run the code outside of the IF block. At least, that is what appears is happening.

I've had one occasion where an adjacent-activation zone refused to function. Reloading the game made the problem disappear.

My Equip system gets very flaky after shuffling a few items around. For some reason, it appears if I buy 3 of an item, and then begin to replace the items for characters, it loses the stringname for the replaced item. It doesn't always happen, though. I know it is hard to help on this one without seeing the 2000 or so lines of code for equipment handling, but this is definitely a problem that wasn't there before I upgraded versions.

Hm, can't edit my post, so I'll add another post...

I was just wondering. Is there any reason I would need to restart after extracting the new build if I have previously run the older build since last restart?

Nevermind my last two posts... I just needed to restart my computer. :-)

Woo! New VERGE. Sweet.

I'm downloading it now. The End of File detection should be highly useful and I'm sure I'll find something ridiculous to do with the other new stuff.

Wow, great job on the new release, guys. Reloading VC files should prove to be very useful...

Have you released a demo yet? You've been registered for over half a year now! You should earn your wings... er... avatar!

I will, but my ideas are radical, and thus, need polishing.
Plus, I'm preoccupied with Asian chicks, and I keep getting sidetracked when I try to concentrate on finishing a demo for my RTBS RPG. ;_;
I'm so sorry, but I'm a bird who's gonna be flying late.

Hey, don't worry too much Crazy. It took me like seven years to do anything worthwhile.

... But still, get out a demo! A poorly-executed crappy idea is better than a brilliant idea that never leaves its creator's mind.
