That sucks about GameFaqs. I had no idea. They must be hurting if they don't want to bother listing text files.

All the art in Diver Down was supposed to be redone. Metro wanted to redo all the tiles. And there are a lot of art cels that need doing (I left a lot of my placeholders in the game). It would be cool if I could get that done one day.

It's not that they're hurting. It's that they're corporate sponsored and now have more strict rules.

Is there a gamefaqs site for amatuer/free games, I wonder?

Thanks mcgrue...duhhh...I feel like a gomer...

I brainstormed myself into that eventually, but the first couple of times I tried I must not have been close enough. I'm past the Weeping Sands, Lumen and on Merman Isle. I'm happily clueless about where the plot is going (usually I can see what's coming a mile away), but wandering around in the mountain pass on merman isle. I live in West Central Florida, and am (quite literally) in the middle of Hurricane Frances. I thought that a little game time might take my mind off of the stuff blowing around outside, the windows creaking, and the power going in and out. I haven't had any game time due to preparations for the storm. Is there a map for that mountain pass anywhere?

Maps are for the weak! What I thought was funny about that area was how the man-eating plants were totally harmless after all the dialogue setting them up.

Ha ha! Yeh, I think at one point I was going to make them an encounter if you bump into them (like the other non-moving desert trees) but I guess it never happened. What that dialogue DID set up, though, was that the plants that were closed could be approached. In game terms, what looked like a wall of plants could actually be squeezed by, giving you access to a few chests. Later in the dungeon, I think I required you to figure this out to advance, which gave the player the option of going back for the secret chests or not.

EDIT: And Frances is only a Category 2! Suck it up! ;) I'm just pissed cause my flight to miami for the holiday weekend was canceled.

hey dude, care to let me know where the trophy lost in the fountain is? is this quest important or can i skip it?
thx anyway, nice piece of work this game.

All those quests are optional except for the first. And then there's a part in the game where you need to complete any other quest you want. Barring that, it's not important!

There's water in the tunnels underneath the town. Maybe there are some pipes down there somewhere?

I have a problem. I completed all three quests and NPC in Trading Outpost is still talking that he needs time to get help for me. Can you help me ?

Gayo

I don't think he ever actually finds you any help.

good work guys, very nice game. 25 hours of fun :)

SWEET! Looks like my estimates of 15 hours of gameplay were conservative. I just didn't want anyone to beat it in less time than I said and call me a liar. Someone on gamehippo took 33 hours! (wow).

Thanks for playing!

Can you actually go to the Thorn lands in DD and beat up that guy? it's so tantalizing to be blocked by that gate in the outpost.

grenideer

No, although early on in the game I put that there because of the possibility. That guy, and the Order of the Thorn in general, are pretty important in a book trilogy I was 'writing' so you wouldn't have been able to do much to change them. That guy woulda beaten anybody up too, so if you did see him I either woulda made you just barely escape with your life or not fight them at all.

In fact, Diver Down is set in the world I was writing about, but only halfway through the Kindred Wars instead of at the end. That's why there's a lot of backstory that doesn't make it into the game.

Where did Jea go? Do I have to find her before I can proceed? I have done the 3 guild side quests. I have bought the fast horse. I have traveled up the river where Drek says, 'this is the way in when we are ready'. Why am I not ready?

From an end user perspecrive this game is throuougly entertaining underlined with the potential for greatness... Really.

meh this anon posting is confusing me!

-You need to eat a meal to get ready after you have finished with the preparation objectives.

-Every single puzzle in the tower uses books. You need to tell me which puzzle you're on.

I have eaten the meal and Jea has left the party.
Now I have to do the tower? I am not in the tower. Do I need something to get in? I have never been stuck until this point. Am I missing the obvious here?
Jeesh...I hope not.

In stage 2, you announce a project, procrastinate and never release anything.
